brite-View CinemaCube HD (720P) media player and BitTorrent downloader! (model # BV-5003) Review
Having own the WD HD TV player and Mediagate MG-450HD, I know the future is in media players where you can watch your entire collection of movies. Blu-Ray has not caught on as much as it was being pushed by manufacturers. That is partly due to people keeping DVDs due to the cheap price and not wanting to buy media all over again. But digital media downloads has really taken off. Like HD videos for iPods, Xbox 360, and PS3 downloads. So I have found the brite-view CinemaCube HD Media Player. The CineCube can download movies directly through BitTorrent.
Interface: The GUI is pretty basic. It’s pretty much as text based interface. Nothing too fancy but it also simple to use. I had no problem navigating the interface getting where I wanted to. It’s not the best looking interface but it works great.
Videos: The CinemaCube is beast when it comes to video formats allowing you to playback RM, RMVB, MP2, AVI, H.264, VOB, MOV, MKV, DivX, Xvid, WMV video formats. The only real knock is that it can only do 1280x720 HD(720p). So you won’t be able to 1080p, which is due to chipset limitation. The CinemaCube has an HDMI port and supports HD content up to 720p. It also has analog component and composite connections, S-Video and S/PDIF.
Audio: The CinemaCube does audio just as well as video. It can playback MP3, Real Audio, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and WAV.
JPG: And finally you can view pictures on your Plasma/LCD tv.
With built-in most popular bittorrent p2p file sharing engine, "CinemaCube" let you download media files on the Internet without having to turn your computers on. The excessive wear and tear on your PC hard drive and constant risk of virus and spyware infected content makes downloading using PC dangerous. Let "CinemaCube" do the heavy lifting of downloading and free your PC to do something else.
This is the feature that will sell this media player. Having the ability to download through bittorent without the PC is great. You will need 20GB of free space on the external drive and it must be formatted to either NTFS or EXT-3. First you must import Torrent seeds over to the external drive and then the built in torrent program will download them to the CinemaCube to your USB hard drive.
The Brite-View CinemaCube HD Media Player joins a crowd of other media players but it’s advance features like direct Bittorrent download makes it unique enough to stand out in the crowd. Plus it only costs $90 so it’s affordable too and cheaper than the WD HD TV player by 10 bucks.
