Pure Digital has two new models of their popular selling pocket camcorders. They have the normal Flip Ultra along with the high definition Flip UltraHD. They will cost $149 and $199.

Best-Selling Camcorder Line Now Offers a New HD Model, Double the
Memory and a Larger Screen
April 30 , 2009 — San Francisco, CA

Pure Digital Technologies, Inc. – the maker of the acclaimed Flip Video family of camcorders – today announced the second generation of its Flip Ultra line, America’s number-one selling camcorder since its debut in 2007. Now available in both high-definition and standard-resolution models, the new line offers everyday consumers the easiest and most affordable way to capture and share high-quality video. The new Flip Ultra and Flip UltraHD feature two hours of recording time, a large high-resolution two-inch screen, and convenient battery recharging through the built-in USB arm.

“The original Flip Ultra changed the way the world captures and shares video by making it easy, accessible, and, most of all, fun,” said Jonathan Kaplan, chairperson and CEO of Pure Digital. “Our new Flip UltraHD takes this to the next level by making it incredibly simple and affordable for anyone to capture and share hours of video in stunning HD.”

The new Flip Ultra and UltraHD camcorders set a new standard for convenient and affordable video capture. Both new models offer a full two hours of recording capacity, a bright two-inch transflective screen for no-glare viewing even in direct sunlight, and an innovative AA rechargeable battery pack that can be conveniently recharged through the camera’s built-in USB arm. The Flip Ultra is priced at just $149.99, while the Flip UltraHD sells for $199.99.

Like all Flip Video camcorders, the new Ultra line is pre-loaded with FlipShare™, the on-board software that leads consumers seamlessly through the process of organizing, editing and sharing videos. Consumers simply plug the built-in USB arm directly into any Mac or PC to begin sharing their videos immediately.

The second generation Flip Ultra camcorder promises to build on the success of the Flip Video family, which has sold more than 2 million camcorders since first introduced less than two years ago. The Flip Ultra continues its reign as the number-one selling camcorder in the U.S., while the Flip MinoHD, launched last November, is currently the top-selling HD camcorder in the country, both according to first quarter 2009 rankings from leading market research firm The NPD Group.

Samsung STORY™ Station for Desktop PC Storage

Samsung has announce a new 1.5 Terabyte external hard drive. The 3.5 inch external drive will feature enhanced security software and come in an Aluminum Metal enclosure for durability. Software will include Samsung Auto Backup, SecretZone™ and SafetyKey™.

The drive will use environmentally-friendly materials that comply with international environmental standards. The STORY Station will be available in sizes 500GB, 1TB and 1.5TB with USB interface and 3 year warranty. The STORY Station is due out in May.

Seoul, Korea—April 29, 2009: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a world leader in digital consumer electronics and information technology, today announced its new 1.5-Terabyte (TB) external hard drive, Samsung STORY™ Station, which is designed to meet the explosive demand for external, secure and eco-friendly desktop PC storage. The 3.5-inch external hard drive, which features enhanced security software and a solid aluminum casing, is ideal for data backup of personal, hard-to-replace data, music, photos and video files.

To protect against data loss and security compromises, the new Samsung STORY Station features three important safety features: Samsung Auto Backup, SecretZone™ and SafetyKey™. Samsung Auto Backup backs up data in real time or through a prearranged schedule. The backed-up data can also be securely saved by setting a password with Samsung’s SafetyKey™. And to protect confidential files and folders, Samsung’s SecretZone™ creates a virtual drive which provides encryption for data security.

Designed with environmentally-friendly materials that comply with international environmental standards such as RoHS, the new storage supports green operation with a power-saving mode that automatically goes into standby after five minutes of inactivity.

Based on the same innovative design philosophy as the Samsung S1 Mini and S2 Portable external hard drives announced last December, the Samsung STORY Station displays passionate red lines against a high-tech “brushed” aluminum surface with red cable ports. Samsung now provides a full range of external hard drives: the 1.8-inch S1 Mini and the 2.5-inch S2 Portable for portable use, and the 3.5-inch Samsung STORY Station for large volume data back up.

The Samsung STORY Station’s heat dissipating design – the ventilation and the aluminum cover – prevents heat build up and keeps the drive inside cool.

Available in 500GB, 1TB and 1.5TB densities, the Samsung STORY Station has a USB 2.0 interface and provides a three-year warranty.

The Samsung STORY Station is scheduled for release in May with initial shipments to Europe, and then released in other regions of the world subsequently.

Rumor mill is churning into high gear that Apple may bring a CDMA iPhone once their exclusive contract runs out with AT&T. Comparison
Logitech Noise Canceling $149.99
Plane Quiet Solitude $199.99
Bose QuietComfort 2 $299.99
Bose QuietComfort 3 $349.99

Logitech has been known as an accessories company. And they do makes so great ones (I own several of them so I should know). They continue to expand there product line and put other companies on notice that there not afraid to take on the market leaders namely Bose in this case.

Price – The Logitech noise canceling headphones will run you $149.99 and is about half the price of the Bose Quietcomfort 2 while giving you about same things included with it.

Included - The Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones comes with a nice amount of extras. First it includes is a very nice hard case to store the headphones when not in use as well having a 5 feet removable audio cable, AAA battery, and airplane adapter.

Design – First off I like Logitech’s simplistic yet striking black/gray look, which gives it a modern stylistic look to it. The cushioned earcups are nice and big (some say too big) and fit nice and secure. The earcups lay flat for easy storage in the provided case. And when in use you just twist the earcups and your ready to put them on.

Do they work – Just putting on the headphone will greatly reduced the noise levels in the room. Once you flip the switch almost all ambient noise is gone. So the phones definitely do what there supposed to do. And music over all using the headphones was pretty solid. I listened to all kinds of different types of music on the headphones and found it to be a pleasant experience.

Conclusion – While Logitech’s offering wont unseat the king of noise canceling just yet, they do offer up a cheaper alternative and I do want to see Logitech continue to revise this model like Bose does with the Quietcomfort line refining the issues and releasing newer revisions. With that being said I would definitely recommend this headphones to anyone who’s interested in a good pair of noise canceling headphones.

I am always on the lookout for unique products to review. When I stumble upon projects-us.com I knew I had to review one of their products. I instantly knew the watch I wanted to review was the “Reveal Watch.”

The Reveal Watch is particularly unique as its is a unisex watch (for both men and women) that is a digital watch with an analog format along with a special way to display the present time.

Design – Ever since I saw the Movado museum watch I was intrigue by the Art of a watch. Only the Movado watch compromises function for design. The Reveal watch is a nice balance of the two. A work of art yet completely functional as a watch.

Function – Simple is back in a big way. In today’s climate companies seem to make products that does everything but nothing particular well. The Reveal watch does not have a bunch of bells and whistles. But it does its job where it counts telling time and looking good on your wrist.

How does it work – So what’s so unique about it? Well the Reveal watch uses a special rotating disc that only reveals the hour and minute which would be displayed in white while the rest is cover up by the black disc.

Unisex – The Reveal watch is the perfect mid-sized watch for both men and women. The face of the watch is not too big for women to wear and not too small for men to wear. And the adjustable leather band strap makes sure it’s always a perfect fit for any size wrist.

Price - The best part is the price. At under $100 this watch is perfect for anyone who wants a quality watch that balances design with function in a classy dressy style perfect for when your going out for dinner, at a meeting or just wearing out.

Pacific Design Sony PSP Gaming Flip Case Review

Manufacture: Pacific Design
Official Site: http://www.pacificdesign.com
Reviewed by K.C. Kim

One day when I was browsing PSPworld.com I read news of a new case for the Sony PSP from Pacific Design. Instantly when I reached the official site for the case I thought I must review this product. I contacted Pacific Design and luckily received a review unit.

The cases come in your choice of colors (Black with Burnt Red, Black with Bright Blue, Gray with Orange, and Gray with Yellow.) I chose Black with Burnt Red. I wanted something different from the ordinary black cases that I had laying around. It’s definitely great to have choices.

When I first open the UPS package I could smell the distinct smell of leather. Even though its made of polyurethane I swear the look, feel, and smell can fool everyone to thinking its made out of high grade leather. With the black and red colors and leather like feel the case almost has an expensive Air Jordan’s appeal to it.

Overall if you are looking for a fine looking case that is slim, functional, and well made look no further than the Sony PSP Flip Case by Pacific Design

Pro
Slim
High quality feel
Storage for UMD
Can play PSP in case

Cons
Doesn’t protect entire PSP (sides)
Leave openings for possible dust
Lack of room for accessories

Sima Atomic Wrist Watch Review

Supplier ThinkGeek
Price $29.99

I have never been much of a watch person. I usually carry around a cell phone with me which i look at when i want to know the time. But after a while that became repetitive and i was looking for a watch that combines good looks as well ease of use. Thats when i found the Atomic Wrist Watch from Thinkgeek, a watch that sets its time automatically receiving a radio signal from the Cesium atomic clock.

Design: The Sima watch comes in black with silver accents. And i have to say the watch looks good and will appeal to those who want a simplistic design yet functional automatic performance. The watch is made of plastic but has an almost rubber feeling to the outer coating. The watch is definately solidly built and feels like an expensive watch.

Function: It sets the time inself by recieving signals from the atomic clock. What more can you ask for in a watch than that. It is also is water-resistant, adjusts automatically for Daylight Savings, has a backlight, and has two alarms.

Conclusion: For $29.99 you getting an excellent watch that can tell time accurately. No more no less.

HardBody PSP Daily Case Review

Specs –
• xEVA outer shell with patent pvc design
• Water-resistant zipper with 2 pulls containing rubber SLAPPA logo grips
• Storage divider with 2 cargo net storage pockets (ideal for storing 2 Universal Media Discs)
• Cargo net storage pocket inside the case cover (ideal for storing headphones and remote control)
• Xtra-wide elastic band for ultra-secure PSP storage
• D-ring with removable carabineer clip for EZ transport
• Adjustable Velcro storage strap for multiple transport options

Dimensions:
Case: 4" (w), 7.5"(h), 2"(d )

Intro: The number one requirement after purchasing the Sony Playstation Portable has to be a nice case to protect it for everyday use. Let's face it the Sony PSP is not the most rugged electronic around and must be handled with care. While the PSP does include a soft case that many like to call a sock with Sony logo emblazoned on it. The truth of the matter is the PSP soft case is just not going to offer enough protection. Fortunately there is a wide array of of cases available from third party manufactures. Here I will take a look at the SLAPPA HardBody PSP Daily Case.

Function: The Slappa case is a closed style case that can carry your Sony PSP, two UMDs, as well as your other accessories such as earphones, extra batteries etc. While protecting the PSP the Slappa case also provides a level of protection of dust as no dirt or grime will get in when you zip up the case. The only negative side to a case like this is that you can not play the psp inside the case. This might be a deal breaker for some but I find that the playing a psp inside a case leaves out a lot to be desired.

Design: The Slappa HardBody case feels nice in hand as well as having a stylistic look in pure black with a shiny Slappa front logo.

Conclusion – The Slappa case looks like an Aero case on ROIDS. While the Aero case has a similar outer look the Slappa case shines in terms of space. Try sticking any accessories into the Aero case and you will have a hard time closing the unit. This is not a problem with the Slappa HardBody case. Overall if your looking for a case that does everything well and wont cost you a lot the Slappa HardBody case may be for you.

Pros
Maximum Protection
Can withstand short falls
Dust proof

Cons
Larger than average size
Average Style
Cant play PSP inside case
