A good running shoe is important to reduce chance of injury, pain from lack of cushioning, and many other things that makes running less pleasant. I tried and tested many brands of footwear from Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and others. I had a chance to check out Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoe. This shoe has tons of technology put into it to make running less painful.






The Glycerin 8 shoe is flashier than previous models which were on the conservative side. You can choose from two color schemes(Silver/Black/Royal/White or Black/Limeade/Silver). I chose the Black/Limeade/Silver version as it had a modern yet futuristic look to it. The shoe is well constructed and will last you quite a long time. With other shoes like Nike's I found the shoes quality suspect. In addition the Glycerin 8 was quite lightweight and a perfect fit for my feet.

The Glycerin 8 is the latest in the line of Glycerin shoes. The performance shoe features Brooks® DNA which provides the runner with shock absorption based on your pace. The DNA cushioning system is a new technology that changes impact when force is applied. A fast pace run will bounce back more energy than when you have a slow pace. A video showing the technology shows a liquid compound that when you run over it becomes solid. But when you just put your feet into it, it sinks into the liquid. So in the same principles running with the DNA technology provides extra cushioning when you’re running.


I gave these shoes a good test run and found them to be comfortable and provides very good cushion depending on your pace. I plan to put many miles on these and so far so good. And so far no injuries and pain that can happen when you run so much. If you’re a marathon runner then these would be one of the best options for you.


The Glycerin 8 is the best running shoe I have ever used. This shoe would be great for marathon runners and those who run many miles daily. The fit and cushioning in this shoe can't be beat. Unlike other shoes where my feet hurt after a long run, the Glycerin 8 performs well to keep my feet nice and comfortable. In addition these shoes are environmental friendly thanks BioMoGo technology that degrades over time in a landfill.
