Nintendo Action Figures

Action Figure Smackdown?

Who knows what we would have done as kids with Nintendo Action Figures. Back then, video games didn't have action figures... action figures were reserved for things like movies and bad cartoons. But we can't help imaging the youthful joy of inviting our friends over for an action figure smackdown featuring Yoshi, Darth Vader, Mario and Optimus Prime. Mario would have reigned victorious of course, after jumping on the heads of his opponents and decimating them with fireballs. Now decades later you can fulfill your dreams with these nifty Nintendo Action Figures. Choose from Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Mario, Fire Mario, or Goomba. Each is imported from Japan, stands approximately 5" tall, features simple articulation and sturdy vinyl construction.

MOSH mobile The "Free As You Go" Mobile Service

MOSH mobile wants to give you free cellphone service if you buy the phone. Currently in beta and invite only.

Official website here

The only way I can think a cell phone service can be free is if they had an ads system that would send ads to the phone. Which would offset the cost. This was a feature in the Gizmondo called Smartadds but it never launched. And the only one who I think can pull off a free phone service with ads is google.

They’ve designed a wristwatch that recognizes hand gestures and uses them for touch-free control of electronic devices such as MP3 players, cell phones, and home appliances. The technology could also be used by a doctor to control a medical device during an operation.

AT&T iPhone service bills running long

New York Times columnist David Pogue and John Gruber of Daring Fireball are reporting that iPhone customers’ AT&T bills contain overly lengthy explanations of data usage. Writes Pogue, “I get six pages of listings of data tidbits that the iPhone has downloaded in the form of email and Web pages–kilobyte by kilobyte! Every graphic on every Web page, every message sent or received–it’s all carefully listed by date and time.” Gruber confirms the excess, stating that his own data listing “weighs in at 45 pages.” It is important to note that while lengthy, the listings provide no specifics of browser activity. For environmentally conscious iPhone owners who would like to enroll in paperless billing and avoid receiving pages of data transfer listings, you can sign up for the free service at att.com/mywireless.

PASEN ITOUCH 2.8'' TOUCHSCREEN MP3 PLAYER ONDA VX858 IPHONE

Here's a first look at the Pasen Itouch an iPhone looking PMP.

HTC Kaiser gets FCC Approval

We hoping that the HTC Kaiser is closer to release after clearing the FCC. There will be three versions of the phone. One with no camera(similar to the previous 8500), one with a camera on back(similar to 8525) and one camera in front and back of phone(which most likely be the international one(similar to the Tytn, Dopod 838pro).

I'm thinking the second one may end being the AT&T 8925 successor to the AT&T 8525. Hopefully official release dates are released soon.

Pocketables reviews the Flipstart

Jenn K. Lee over at Pocketables.net has a review of the Flipstart 1.0 (E-1001S). This is the conclusion she comes out with.

Even if I could overlook its outdated design, chunkiness, and lack of a touchscreen, I would find it difficult to recommend the FlipStart because of its very high starting price: $1999. For a 30GB hard drive, 512MB of RAM, and little innovation in terms of pushing the limits of the form factor, it's just too much.

I do like the backlit keyboard, integrated 3G connectivity, accessory bundle, and input options (particularly the touchpad), but there are better alternatives on the market right now that are much less expensive. In fact, the current price puts the FlipStart above the best configuration of the OQO Model 02 and the Sony Vaio UX380N, both well known for their premium price tags.

GenerationMP3 Tests Archos 605

Here's the conclusion they came to:

Before testing the 605 Wifi, we thought that this one was only one update of its predecessor, the 604 Wifi. With final, one notes that Archos made evolve/move its product much more than what one would have pus to believe it.

The 605 Wifi is before a whole video walkman: it is compatible with many formats (if you buy the plug-ins) and has a very good video quality. It is addressed to the people wishing to look at its vidéos in wandering mode.
Audio side, it is not badly, but one is nevertheless far from a walkman with a very good audio quality as one connait it at Cowon or even Sony…
Concerning WiFi, since it is a large point proposed by Archos, this one functions very well for all that is streaming, even VoD, but for navigation Internet, it will be necessary to be patient in spite of the support with the flash… On the latter point, Archos has still progress to make and to make pay to 30€ the Opera navigator for this very mitigated result, it is exaggerated perhaps a little.
This new version thus gains in quality, in speed but loses small alleviating but useful functionalities like the microphone or the exit TV.
What disturbs us more, it is the policy of the plug-ins or another modules of Archos; admittedly the product is at a very gravitational price, 300€, but if you wish to benefit from it the maximum it will be necessary to put the hand at the pocket and to approach the 500€.
In the absence of real competitors on the French market, Archos is placed as a leader with this 605 Wifi which is a complete PMP when one puts at it the price and which will make the happiness of many users

Mobile View reviews HTC Touch

Here's a summary of Allistair Lee's thoughts on the HTC Touch

Do I like the Touch? Surprisingly, despite its rather run-of-the-mill hardware specifications, I found that I really do like it. Also, unlike some other Pocket PC phones I've tested, I feel comfortable using it. The only real issue I have is the text input. Without a keypad or a keyboard or even a usable software keyboard/alphanumeric keypad, sending SMS messages on this device can be challenging. And while the text-input issue can hopefully be addressed in the next ROM update, those looking for 3G Internet surfing or video-calling will have to wait till another version of the Touch comes along. Top marks to HTC for the effort. It is not quite there yet in terms of the interface, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. The phone size and price are just right, in my opinion.

And if, despite our best efforts, you do miss a turn, the iCN 330 automatically recalculates a new route with its Back-on-Track function.

The Navman iCN 330 is ready to use straight out of the box, so you can enjoy its amazing capabilities right away.

GearDiary reviews PDAir 4-in-1 PDA Stylus

I was actually interested in getting this product since I hate those small stock stylus that electronics devices come with. Only the price on the stylus is not right. Pdair sells the 4-in-1 stylus for $15. Which is to expensive in my opinion. You can get the same exact stylus pen at Deal Extreme for $3.75 shipped. Buy it here for that price.

Sony PSP revised, somewhat.

When I saw the announcement of the revised PSP I was expecting some changes. Unfortunately all we got was an almost similar psp that is somewhat thinner, lighter, and has tv out. Not worth upgrading in my opinion.

Pocketables reviews iriver clix 2 cradle

Jenn k. lee of Pocketables takes a look at the iRiver Clix 2 cradle. Her conclusion is:

The iriver clix 2 cradle would be a fantastic, must-have accessory if not for its integrated speaker, which sounds great on paper but falls far short of even lowered expectations in person. Not only does it produce muffled and tin-like sound, but it's also the root of one of my other gripes about the unit: no dedicated volume controls.

If iriver omitted the speaker (and added an LED indicator for battery status), the dock could still command its $45 asking price based solely on its charging/syncing capabilities and good looks. Then again, its unconventional design (part of its appeal) doesn't make any sense without its speaker.

Why i hate AT&T!

OK now I receive mail that my home phone service will be changing to the new AT&T. They said I will save money if I use the new AT&T service plan. While I do save a little money. They seem to change what it will cost per month. The guy I signup with the plan stated it would cost around $70 a month. Then a couple days later I call again and was told it would cost $86. By the time I receive my next bill. Who knows what it will end up costing me. This is the main reason I held off getting an iPhone. AT&T simply sucks!
