Rupert Murdoch wants in on Amazon Kindle

At a recent Q&A Rupert Murdoch spoke of interest in creating a better Amazon Kindle with a bigger screen and full color.

Here's what he had to say
We need new models. The first inkling of it is the Kindle. You can get the whole paper there. And you can get the whole of The Wall Street Journal on your BlackBerry. We’re investing in a new device that has a bigger screen, four-color, and you can get everything there.

Looks like Murdoch wants to invest in a company that can compete with the Amazon Kindle.

First look at Foxit's eSlick eReader

Everyone knows about the Amazon Kindle2 Release. Well their was another eReader released recently. The Foxit eSlick Reader recently sold out of it's first batch of readers(more stock on or around April 10). But a few who already order early got theirs now. A member of GearDiary was one of them. First pics of Amazon Kindle 2 in the wild

Boy Genius Report got some photos of what looks like the Amazon Kindle 2. Gone is the odd shape of the original Kindle. And now present is a more rounded look. The scroll wheel has been replaced with a joystick, SD slot is gone replaced with internal memory, and non replaceable battery. So you can call this an upgrade because of a better design or a downgrade because of everything else.

Cybook Gen3 e-book reader enters production, coming in September

Dubbed the Cybook Gen3, the device makes use of E Ink's Vizplex e-paper technology to give you a 166 dpi resolution on its 6-inch screen, and promises to last for 8,000 page flips before needing a recharge. What's more, Bookeen's also announced that it's struck a deal with Mobipocket to license and distribute the Mobipocket e-book format, giving Cybook users access to some 50,000 titles. According to Bookeen, it'll be offering the Cybook in a variety of different "packs," the lowest cost of which will set you back $350.
