Apple may kill off iPod Classic

AppleInsider discovered that the link to iPod Click Wheel Games no longer appears on the App Store drop-down menu in iTunes. This maybe a sign that Apple will discontinue the Classic. It was long rumored that the iPod Classic would die off so this is not surprising.

New version of Zune HD in the works?

Microsoft might not abandon Zune just yet. Today was Apple day with all the iPod announcements. But soon we could see Microsoft counter with their own Zune HD update. This new mp3 player is rumored to have ARM processor and released sometime in 2011.

An Orange Exec almost confirms that an Apple Tablet is coming. Of course after it's spreading through various gadget blogs, a spokesperson says that the wording was out of context. Engadget translate the interview and it seems like an Apple Tablet is coming soon.

Fox News is confirming that there will be an Apple Event January 26th. According to sources the event will be about mobility space. So this maybe the perfect time for Jobs to unleash the Tablet then been talk about to death.

Is this the Apple iPod Touch 3rd Generation?

A Chinese site claims these leaked photos are pictures of the 3rd generation iPod Touch. The main difference seems to be the 3 Mega Pixel camera on the back.

The New iPhone?

Is this the new iPhone? We shall see on monday if it is. From the picture it has a matte black casing with no chrome accents, front facing camera, and iPhone OS 3.0.

iPod Nano 5G rumors

iLounge has an insider who says the new Nano 5th generation would look lilke this. It will have a camera, widened screen size and smaller click wheel. So no to touchscreen for at least the 5th generation.

Second generation iPhone to have 3G and GPS

Engadget has it on good word that the 2nd Gen iPhone will have 3G and proper GPS. Here are several other observations they have found.

* The first thing people will notice: the 2nd gen iPhone will be about the same size and shape as the first gen.
* It will, of course, have 3G. And proper GPS!
* The most noticeable physical difference is back of the phone is no longer metal -- the whole thing is glossy black, from top to bottom. The volume buttons are now chrome.
* Because it's got a little less metal to deal with, it doesn't have quite as many angular edges. The battery is (still) not removable.
* The phone itself will be slightly thicker than the first gen device.
* The headphone jack will no longer be recessed, and will finally be flush with the body.
* The device itself uses roughly the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
* No solid word on battery life or capacity.

Rumor - Updated iMacs next week?

GeekSugar is reporting that Apple might be reveiling new iMacs next week. According to the tipster look for new iMacs with same price point as current models. And will most likely receive a speed bump as well as a hard-drive increase.

Rumor Mill: Nintendo DS update at E3

Rumor mill is churning out that Nintendo will be releasing a new DS at E3. According to Enterbrain publisher Hirokazu Hamamura is that Nintendo will announce a new DS at this year’s E3. The article does not make clear whether it will be a whole new console or just yet another redesign of the DS.

Rumor $100 price cuts for iPhone and iPod

9to5mac.com got a tip that Apple is planning on dropping the prices again on the iPhone and iPod Touch line within the next month or two - perhaps at the late February event, perhaps as late as mid-April. Their tipster says that Apple will drop the prices by $100.

Rumor: Apple event the last week of February

TUAW has posted a tip that the company that does television for Apple's live events and Macworld is apparently hiring for an unannounced Apple event at the end of February. This is of course just a rumor at the moment and nothing more.

16GB iPhone's coming soon

Engadget has two sources that state that 16GB iPhone's might be showing up shortly.

One person spotted the phone in AT&T Wireless inventory, listed as not in stock, while the other tipster was fairly certain about a release this Tuesday or the next one.
