I got sick of buying alkaline batteries that died real quick. So I went ahead and bought a rechargeable AA kit. The Energizer charger comes with two rechargeable AA batteries for the price of under $10.
The charge can hold 4 AAA batteries or 4AA batteries. You must put them in pairs for the light to turn on. The major negative about this charger is that it does not have automatic shut off. The manual gives you basic times to charge the batteries.
Overall this cheap charger will serve its purpose. If you want a basic kit for rechargeable batteries and charger then this is it. And under $10 I highly recommend this charger/battery pack.
