I picked up this 20 inch monitor and overall satisfied with it. The P205H was released just last year as a more budget monitor. It features a 1600x900 widescreen resolution on a 20 inch LCD panel. The contrast is 20000:1, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 5ms response time.






Included in the package are monitor, cd, manual, stand, audio cable, vga cable, DVI cable, and power plug. I opened the box and hooked it up within minutes. At first there was no signal. But once I turned off computer, then turn on monitor and restarted the PC the screen turned on.

The Acer P205H is a perfect size for me. I previously had a 19 inch 16:10 Dell monitor and the Acer looks much bigger with its widescreen format. The Acer P205H has two built in speakers. They are on the back of the unit and should be ok for personal use. But you should not rely on the speakers. They are placed on the back of the monitor so the sound is hollow and the loudness is a bit lacking. The stand is made of a good quality plastic but there is a slight wobble if you bump your desk.

The Acer P205H has an ON button on the lower right. The settings button is hidden below the monitor on the left to the ON button. I used the Auto function to set the color and brightness and work well enough.

I was worried about the glossy screen. But it's not too bad and even after hours of use I don't have any eyestrain from viewing the screen. The stand is not tilt able but the viewing angle is very good.


The Acer P205H is a great LCD monitor that I would recommend to anyone. While it has some minor issues there is nothing of significance. And for the price range you will not find a better monitor.
