Kazuo Hirai will take over CEO duties from Howard Stringer. Hirai will be effective starting April 1st. Former Sony Corp CEO Howard Stringer will become chairman of the board of directors in June. This is a critical time for Sony since they are losing ground to Korean companies in electronics like televisions and Smartphones and Tablets have been dominated by Apple.
