Windows 7 not that good on old hardware

So I was tested Windows 7 on an older Thinkpad T43 laptop. The install went fine but once I reboot the system I get a Blue Screen of Death memory error and to contact my manufacturer lol. Well I changed back go Windows XP which I now know the reason why it's OS that won't die.
