Netbook news blog Liliputing has reviewed the Asus EEE Top ET2002. This nettop all in one is very unique in look, function and in price. Brad Linder seems to like this unusual All-In-One PC.

The Asus Eee Top ET2002 is an impressive computer in many ways. It handles playback of local 1080p videos with ease, and it had no problem with video games that would have caused most Intel-Atom based PCs to choke. But while the NVIDIA ION graphics gives the laptop a major boost in some areas, in others the ET2002 behaves like a typical Intel Atom netbook. Unzipping large files takes a long time, Windows Vista takes 1-2 minutes to boot, and even some light weight tasks like flipping through web pages can feel slow at times.

Shuttle intros nettop

Shuttle has released the X270V nettop. It features 1.6GHz Atom 330, up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, gigabit Ethernet, 6-channel audio, a PS/2 connector for the retro folks, six USB sockets and VGA / DVI outputs. Also featuring Suse Linux 11 and will be available for the Europe market for €299 ($390).

AspireRevo first NVIDIA Ion-based nettop

Nvidia Ion is finally making it's way. First one to sport the new graphics chip is the AspireRevo. This nettop features 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 250GB of HDD space, a 4-in-1 card reader, HDMI / VGA outputs, gigabit Ethernet, six USB 2.0 sockets, audio in / out, Windows Vista Home Premium / Basic and a svelte black and white enclosure that measures just 7.1- x 7.1- x 1.2-inches. The Nvidia Ion will help with such things as light gaming and 1080p and Blu ray content.

Asus Celeron powered EEE Box

Asus has released a lower cost EEE Box that features a Intel Celeron chip rather than the usual Atom chip EEE Box's have been shipping with. This saves cost and will be cheaper to the consumer.

Acer Aspire One hits Europe

In Europe you can get the Aspire One in three configurations , the A110L, A150L, and A150X. The A110L has an Atom N270 CPU, Intel's 946GSE chipset, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, 8GB of NAND flash storage, an 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 display, 802.11b/g, and three USB ports. The other two has the same specs except for flash instead of the usually HDD. Retailer claim the A110L is in stock now at €329 (or about $518) in Germany.

HP 2133 Mini-Note deploys 7,000 units to schools

The HP 2133 was made for the school sector and finally they are making there way to schools. HP has announced that 7,000 Mini-Note netbooks will be shipped to Fresno (Calif) United School District for K-12 students.

The HP Mini-Note is a powerful laptop that is small enough to fit on students’ desks along with their textbooks and papers, allowing them access to the Internet and educational content from around the world without leaving their seats,” said Kurt Madden, chief technology officer, Fresno United School District.

Rebranded MSI Wind in Japan as LuvBook U100

The MSI Wind seems to be rebranded again. First the Medion's Akoya Mini for the European market next the LuvBook U100 for Japan. Seems like they will sell the Wind hardware to anyone interested. Same specs as the Wind which include a 10.2-inch LCD screen in WSVGA resolution (1024×600), a 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA HDD, Intel ATOM N270 CPU (1.60 GHz), Intel 945GMS+ICH7M chipset, WIFI b/g, 1.3 megapixel webcamera and Bluetooth 2.0. Pricing will be about $551.
