Venzero Linq gets reviewed

BallerStatus.com got a chance to go hands on with the Venzero Linq.

THE VERDICT

Selling in a $200 price range, the LINQ has some good things going for its price, such as the WIFI application and MusicMarker service. Although Venzero did not shy away from introducing new features, in this case, it is clear the innovations have had the upper hand. Standard features such as the dull graphics and stiff navigation controls should have been thought out better.

Haier Ibiza Rhapsody review by PCMag.com

PCMag got their hands on the ibiza Rhapsody. Check out full details HERE

Given a rating of 3.5 out 5

Bottom line
Haier (yes, the home appliance people) delivers a capable, Wi-Fi-enabled PMP that works without a PC, so you can take your Rhapsody content with you.

Pros
Connects to Rhapsody via Wi-Fi. No PC needed. Built-in Web browser. FM radio. Bluetooth functionality.

Cons
Clunky design. Interface is slow. Bundled earbuds are flimsy.

Crave's first look at the new 30GB WIFI MP3 Player ibiza Rhapsody

(Credit: Jasmine France)

Cnet favorite MP3 reviewer Jasmine France got a chance to go hands on with the ibiza Rhapsody.

And for a first generation product Jasmine France gives it a positive overview.

"First, considering the lack of choice in this category at the moment, I'm digging that the ibiza Rhapsody is a hard drive player (flash models are impending) with a 30GB capacity."

"And I'm keen on the way the ibiza handles album art: there's a fullscreen, faded out image behind the thumbnail on the main playback screen (see photo below)."

"There's support for MP3, WMA (DRM 10 included), WAV, AAC audio and MPEG4, WMV, M4V, AVI, H.264, MPG video. "

Slacker Player Offiical to be released soon

Engadget has the scoop on the new Slacker Player. Just after the ibiza-Rhapsody news, an odd day indeed as it seemed both these players look like they were becoming vaporware til today.

Here Engadget info

  • It'll be available in 15 (2GB), 25 (4GB), and 40 (8GB) station capacities. (Station capacity is how Slacker gauges storage. Each station carries with it a slew of tracks). Prices are $200, $250, and $300, respectively.
  • 4-inch screen with touch strip and scroll wheel. (Sorry, not a touchscreen, though, nor is it intended for video playback.)
  • The device uses WiFi to connect directly to content, and MTP over USB connection. You can do your thing without using a machine, but if you want to use USB you won't have an easy time using it on non-Windows platforms.
  • It supports MP3, WMA, and AAC playback. The music you sync from the stations is kept in "hidden" storage in DRMed AAC. No, you're not at all allowed to try and grab at this content.
  • 10 hours battery life with removable li-ion battery
  • Premium Radio Service is available for $7.50 per month, enabling unlimited track skipping, ratings music and banning tracks or artists, station sharing, and ad-free station streams

Nokia N810 with Qwerty keyboard finally

I have been a fan of the Nokia Internet Tablets. But I always wanted a full Qwerty keyboard. Now they have it with the Nokia N810. I recently sold off my OQO 01+ which is eerily similar to the new Nokia Tablet. The only thing that made me give up the OQO was that it ran hot with the HDD and fan. This is not the case with Nokia Tablet. So I think I found my next purchase.

Cnet reviews the new Creative Zen (16GB)

Cnet goes hands on with Creative's new Zen mp3 player. Giving it a positive 8.3 out 10 rating.

Here's what the have to to say:

The good: The Creative Zen sounds fantastic and features a brilliant color screen capable of displaying photos and video. The player offers a smorgasbord of desirable extras such as an SD card expansion slot, an FM radio, a voice recorder, and a user-definable EQ. It has a slim, pocket-friendly design; is very user-friendly; supports subscription music; and sports a reasonable price tag.

The bad: The Creative Zen only comes in black, and it doesn't come close to matching the max 60GB offered by the player it's replacing.

The bottom line: We're hard-pressed to find anything not to like about the Creative Zen. It's a great option for anyone looking for a great-sounding, pocketable MP3 player with an excellent, video-capable screen and plenty of extra features.
