40% of US Teens own an iPhone

According to a recent poll that Piper Jaffrey's Gene Munster posted, 40% of US Teens own an iPhone.  In addition 72% of US Teens who own tablets own an iPad.  This just shows Teens prefer the dominant Apple brand to other less popular companies.

txtr eReader is world smallest

German eBook seller has launched a new eReader called txtr.  The txtr features a 5 inch display at resolution of 600x800 and weighs 4.5ozs.  The claim is that the txtr is the smallest e-Ink based ereader.  The txtr eReader will sell for a mere $13 with a wireless contract in Germany.

ZTE complains Congress is making a blanket statement on all Chinese companies

ZTE is in an awkward situation seeing as they are in China and the U.S. thinks there is potential for the government to be involved with the company.  ZTE counters why companies like Apple who rely on  Foxconn -- Hon Hai Precision Industry have not had the same scrutiny.

However ZTE has some secrets in it's company from selling U.S.-made Cisco Systems, Inc. telecommunications equipment to Iran.  Apparently ZTE transferred several Cisco switches Telecommunication Co of Iran (TCI) -- a criminal violation of U.S. trade laws.

Only time will tell what will happen with ZTE in the U.S. and if they can work out there differences with the U.S. government.

Google is prepping a new 10 inch tablet to compete against the Apple iPad.  The Google Nexus 10 tablet will feature a higher resolution than the new Apple iPad at resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 which is PPI of 299.  This passes the pixels per inch of 299 that the iPad has.

Report Urges U.S. to Avoid ZTE, Huawei Tech Over Security Concerns

U.S. Companies and government should be wary of dealing with ZTE and Huawei according to investigation.  An investigation found that ZTE and Huawei could potentially go rogue at anytime and spy for the Chinese government.  According to this investigation ZTE and Huawei failed to provide enough information that makes them wary of just what ZTE and Huawei might do in the future in the U.S. market.

Component Suppliers Say Apple Has Ordered Parts for 10 Million 'iPad Minis' in 4Q 2012

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple plans to build  10 million units of the iPad Mini in fourth quarter of 2012.  

Some component suppliers to Apple in Asia say they have received orders to make more than 10 million units of the smaller tablets in the fourth quarter. That is roughly double the order that were placed for Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets in the same quarter, these suppliers say.

The figure indicates that Apple believes demand for the product will be strong, despite stiff competition in the market.

Space X Dragon capsule launch

On Sunday the Space X Dragon will piggyback the Falcon 9 rocket to punch through the atmosphere carrying thousand of pounds of cargo.  The capsule will dock at the station  for about three weeks before being sent back to Earth to deliver more than a ton of scientific samples.  The launch is scheduled for 8:35PM ET from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
