Savvy Caddy SC-8 Slim Wallet Review
About a year ago I reviewed the Savvy Caddy SC-24 which holds 24 cards. Well now I get a chance to check out the Savvy Caddy SC-8 which holds 8 cards. The SC-8 is a slimmer wallet that holds only the essentials and geared towards athletes and active people.
The instant you pickup the Savvy Caddy wallet in your hand you will notice a difference. The SC-8 is made of the highest quality top-grain leather. The 8 card slots allow you to carry your ID, Business Cards, Credit Cards, Gym Membership card, and more.
Insert pages - The 8 card slots have a unique plastic buttons at the mid pocket that retain cards from falling out. The feature is patented by Novability, Inc who makes the Savvy Caddy.
Anyone who is playing a sport for recreation or running knows that wallets are a big hassle. While playing a pickup game of basketball my wallet fell out. The problem is that a lot of wallets aren't design for movement. They tend to wiggle in the pocket and fall out. The Savvy Caddy is thin yet wide so there is no movement in the pocket. It fits both the front or back pocket perfectly and is flexible that it flows with your movement. This wallet is so comfortable in my pocket that I don't know it's there.
Those who want a wallet for their active lifestyle should check out the Savvy Caddy SC-8. It is the perfect wallet for runners, athletes of all sports, Skaters, Cyclists and anyone who is active and needs a wallet that fits their needs.

Rayovac Hybrid - Battery charger 2 x AA NiMH Review
Since going to rechargeable batteries I haven't gone back to regular Alkaline. This Rayovac Hybrid Charger caught my eye at the store. So I thought I buy one and give it a try.
Rayovac I know from the Jordan commercials. They are probably less known that the big two of Energizer and Duracell but I found their batteries to be very good.
The kit includes the charger and two 2xAA NiMH batteries ready to use. The batteries are rated 2100mAh. The Hybrid batteries are known to retain a charge longer than other batteries.
The charger is easy enough to use for everyone. I just pop in the included battery in twos. Then the red light turns on and when it's fully charge it will shutoff.
This is a decent low cost charger/battery kit. I recommend to anyone who has lots of gadgets using AA and AAA batteries.

Rescue CDs saves you a trip to GeekSquad
Being tech savvy I get ask a lot to help fix friends and families computer problems. Most of the time their computers are infected and I remove them using one of many freeware Antivirus or Adware programs in safemode. It is important to run in safe mode as the infected computers spreads when you in regular Windows.
An alternate solution is to make a bootable rescue CD. AVG for example offers a free Rescue CD that you can burn to disc. Once you computer gets infected you just pop in the CD and it will scan the computer before Windows boots up.
You can download AVG's Rescue CD HERE

Ronco FD1005WHGEN 5-Tray Electric Food Dehydrator Review
Ever since I saw the Ronco Dehydrator I wanted to try it. So when a relative gifted our family this Dehydrator I figure I review it. There are several models of Ronco Dehydrators. This one has 5 trays and plugs into the outlet.
The bottom of the Ronco Dehydrator is made of white plastic. It has a low heater source that dehydrates fruits and vegetables. Then you have 5 trays that stack on top of each other with a lid on top. The trays have an opening in the middle which distributes the heat to dehydrate the fruits and vegetables.
The first thing you have to do is use lemon juice to keep your vegetables from browning. Then you set the vegetable in the tray not overlapping them. Then you just plug the cord in and off you go. You do have to rotate the trays as well as change up the line up after a certain time. Since you have to do this all manually it ends up that some vegetables are more dried than others.
The Ronco Dehydrator works as advertised. A better dehydrator would probably automate the drying process. Since the Ronco is cheap you have to do it your self every couple of hours. At the end of the day this gets fruits and vegetables dehydrated for storage.

DollarTree Pens and Pencils (Zebra, Pentel, Uni-ball)
DollarTree sells a lot of name brand items for a dollar. They have a decent section of pens and mechanical pencils. Here are some that I found today.
Zebra Z-Grip Max Pens - 2 set
uni-ball Vision RT Pens - 2 set
Pentel Icy AL25TBP2-DT Mechanical Pencil - 2 set
4 pens and 2 mechanical pencils for $3 is not bad.

Verizon iPhone 4 rumored for January 2011 release
TechCrunch is reported that Apple is planning to begin production of a Verizon iPhone in December. This would put the release date of January 2011 very likely.
"Sources with knowledge of this entire situation have assured me that Apple has submitted orders for millions of units of Qualcomm CDMA chips for a Verizon iPhone run due in December," author Steve Cheney wrote. "This production run would likely be for a January launch and I'd bet the phone is nearly 100% consistent with the current iPhone 4 (with a fixed internal insulator on the antenna)."

Why do DSL modems suck so badly
Ok so I switch to DSL a couple of years ago since it was cheaper. I have been overall satisfied with the service although it's kind of slow. My biggest problem with DSL is the crappy modems. My first modem was the Siemens Speedstream 4100b which lasted less than a year. When that modem died I needed internet so I went to a Best Buy to buy a new modem. It ended up costing $70 plus tax for the new modem. The new modem was the Motorola 2210.
The Motorola 2210 ran hot from day one. I had bad feelings about it since I got it six months ago. Well today the 2210 is showing signs that it's going bad. This modem couldn't even last 6 months. I am hoping Motorola replaces the modem since it is under warranty.

ZEBRA 57011 M/F-301(R) Mechanical Pencil and Fine Point Pen Set - Black Ink Review
While I was shopping at Meijer I bought this pen/pencil set from Zebra. This set includes the M-301 .5mm mechanical pencil and .7mm black pen F-301.
The pen/pencil set has a metal body with accents of black plastic. The set only costs $3.49 plus tax at Meijer. The set feels very upscale for the price. And testing the out both write very well.
I highly recommend this to anyone who like a slightly better pen than the bic pen. The stainless steel frame gives it a quality feel.
