Black Asus EEE 900 spotted

OMG this Black Asus EEE 900 looks bada$$. Kind of in a Darth Vader menacing way. Between the white version and black version I would definitely go black Asus EEE. Though I'm sure the black model EEE collects more dust that the white one.

Game addict

I have to admit I am a game addict. Whether it's playing Halo on my Xbox. Some light gaming on my PSP or DS lite. And when I am online. I still play Free Online Games since I don't want to pay for anything. While there not as technical advance games. Rather fun games that are very addictive and fun to play. You can challenge yourself with Skill Games or maybe Puzzle Games to get your mind going. But there is plenty more than that from shooters to fighting games to Deal or No Deal.

I played all of the games I could and found them to be very time consuming. So when your bored they are a definite time waster. And what better thing to do than play games online. You can even put them on your own website. And also play your friends in multiplayer mode. There's also premium games for those who want a bit better games. The games are appropriate for all ages so no worries of the violence and adult content you see on some console games. So make sure to bookmark Free Online Games now and you will alway have something to do while your sitting in your room.

Web Hosting Guide

If your thinking of making a website or blog, then this post is for you. I have been thinking about starting a new site for a long time. This would be my first paid hosting site. But before I jump in with my time and money. This Web hosting guide will show me the way. First I have no clue what are the good web hosting options available to me. I need to find the Web hosting rating on some of the better hosts and compare. All of research goes into to this. But the payoff is definitely worth it.

Now there is a ton of technical stuff you need to learn. I suggest check out several technical books. Even those dummies reference books would be helpful. I have been planning ahead and almost at the point to start off my new site. And if I am starting a website I need to brush up on cPanel with these cPanel Tutorials. There are many other things to learn but I think by a couple months I will know the ins and out of hosting my own site. And then the big money will roll in and I can retire from my 9 to 5 job.

Things to do while you wait for GTA IV to be released

Tomorrow is the day Grand Theft Auto 4 is released so this post is all about gaming. If you want to passed the time until tomorrow why not try some online games like Bowling Alley Defense and Moss Flash Game. Basic games that a lot of fun. Time just fly by playing these online games.

Also you might want to update your myspace page with some great Myspace Games. I played them all and their very addictive. All your friends will like them as well. So update your myspace page with these great games. All code is provided just copy and paste them.

And now back to Grand Theft Auto 4, I'm a cheapskate gamer so I can't afford to buy the game. Renting it at Blockbuster and Hollywood Video is out of the question because they have so limited quantities and it cost like $5 to rent a game for only a couple of days. That's why I plan to Rent Video Games Online at Gamefly. Gamefly has both the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of GTA IV available once it is released. And their monthly fees are less than renting games at a rental store for a couple of days.

HP Mini-Note 2133 Unboxing

I had preordered the HP Mini-Note 5 days after it was being sold on HP's site. But they were backordered til May. So when I saw buy.com selling it I just had to buy it. Buy.com has a warehouse in Chicago so even with the 7-10 free shipping. I got it the next since I live in Michigan.

So today I receive it. This is the Suse Linux version and 1.2GHZ VIA C7M-ULV chip with 120gb hard drive.

Here is the Buy.com box.

Then the second cardboard box. This is the actual packaging of the Mini Note. Not very flashy.

The accessories box comes with documentation, ac adapter, battery.

Inside you will find the Mini Note with it's Aluminum body. If I could compare it, it's similar in design to the Powerbooks and MacBook Pro's.

Second generation iPhone to have 3G and GPS

Engadget has it on good word that the 2nd Gen iPhone will have 3G and proper GPS. Here are several other observations they have found.

* The first thing people will notice: the 2nd gen iPhone will be about the same size and shape as the first gen.
* It will, of course, have 3G. And proper GPS!
* The most noticeable physical difference is back of the phone is no longer metal -- the whole thing is glossy black, from top to bottom. The volume buttons are now chrome.
* Because it's got a little less metal to deal with, it doesn't have quite as many angular edges. The battery is (still) not removable.
* The phone itself will be slightly thicker than the first gen device.
* The headphone jack will no longer be recessed, and will finally be flush with the body.
* The device itself uses roughly the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
* No solid word on battery life or capacity.

GamePark GP2x F-200 Reviewed

Ars technica reviews GamePark Holdings latest king of retro emulation gaming GamePark GP2x F-200. This is an upgraded version of the original GP2x. The F-200 adds touchscreen functionality among other things.

This handheld opens up a whole new market though: the gamer who wants more flexibility out of his or her system without having to crack open or hack Sony and Nintendo's products. It's open source, so you're invited to play with it, the emulation capabilities give you thousands of titles from day one, and it's an able, if unspectacular media player.

Onda VX757 reviewed

allPMP.com has reviewed the non touchscreen Onda VX757 and gave it a mostly positive rating.

If you like VX747, you should seriously consider the VX757. I own a VX747 and I can totally see why Onda comes out with this non-touch screen version. With VX747, I find it not always easy to selecta file at the top of the list with my fingertip. Without proceeding with caution, I tend to get the second file with my fat-finger (of course you canuse the stylus but such inconvenience). VX757 is also less prone to involuntary activating the screen while playing music, saving you power for longer playtime. Having push-button gives you better control for gaming and while driving (please, no gaming and driving at the same time). To me, not having a built-in speaker is not a loss since the quality of such a small speaker cannot be that great anyway. It would be nice if they replace the screen with LTPS but I will not lose sleep over it since this is just a 3” screen. How much detail do you really need? With the price tags slightly lower than VX747, I would definitely recommend the Onda VX757 to anyone shopping for a MP4 player.

HP 2133 Mini-Note Reviewed

Hardware Central has reviewed the HP 2133 and gave it a solid 13 out of a possible 15 rating.

So should you buy an HP Mini now, or wait for a probably improved version? That depends. The Eee still has its picture in the dictionary under cute, but the 2133 should be listed under style or glamour. You won't see a more chic handheld this year.

Against that, when Asus unveiled the Eee at $400, the conventional notebooks available at that price were easy to shun -- or to rationalize, "Yes, I know I could have more screen, keyboard, speed, and storage, but I'll trade that for the convenience and portability of the Eee." Today, the fully loaded HP faces some pretty darn nice conventional notebooks available at $750.

But show us a configuration with a faster CPU, Windows XP instead of Vista, broadband wireless, and even a smaller (80GB?) hard disk if necessary to stay under $600, and we are so there.

the-gadgeteer.com reviews HP 2133 Mini-Note PC

the-Gadgeteer reviews the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC.

They really liked it and like most of the press calling it the EEE PC for grown ups.

I'm extremely impressed with the HP 2133 Mini-Note laptop. So much so, that I don't want to send it back tomorrow! The size is perfect, the display is great, the keyboard is wonderful and the price is nice. Sure, you can get yourself an ASUS EEE PC, for less money... But after you get your hands on the Mini-Note, the EEE PC feels and looks like a cheap toy. I actually purchased the EEE PC for myself thinking I would use it instead of my Macbook Pro for traveling. The small display and low resolution were absolute deal breakers for me though. I would take the Mini-Note on a trip with me in a heart beat. Well, I would if it were running something other than Vista ;o) If you have been shopping for an ultra-portable laptop, please do yourself a favor and take a look at this one before you buy anything else.

Since I have a checking account only I have been looking for to add a savings account with benefits that I liked. The benefits and features look attractive. You get free online banking and free electronics statements. You must maintain a minimum balance of $300 each day of the monthly statement cycle to avoid the monthly service charge amount of $4.00. But that's not as bad as others are. And $300 is not too bad to maintain per month and actually a pretty low minimum requirement. There is also no monthly service charge when you open Online Savings account with WaMu Free Checking account online or link a new Online Savings to an existing active WaMu checking account, as long as checking relationship maintained.

Other features include the ability to access funds by ATM transaction fees may apply). And you can signup for Overdraft Transfer Service and available funds will be transferred from your linked Online Savings account to your checking account to prevent overdrafts or other NSF transactions (Bounced Checks).

Asus EEE PC 8.9 inch to launch early without Intel's Atom

Digitimes is reporting that the Asus EEE 8.9 inch laptop might come out early in Asia to combat competition in the low end laptop space. The 2nd gen laptop may hit in mid April in Asia. This will help them defend the crown in budget laptops that Acer and HP plan on jumping into.

To make this possible the first 9 inch EEE's will not have the Intel Atom chip rather the older chip that is in current laptops. Later versions would have the new Intel Atom chip.

MacBook and MacBook Pro refresh

AppleInsider has a rumor that the MacBook and MacBook Pro will be seeing a major overhaul. First the MacBook's two consumer 13 inch laptops will move to aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel rather than the original plastic. This will keep in line with their new Greener Apple.

The MacBook Pro is also looking at new Design changes taking cues from the MacBook Air and Aluminum iMacs. It's presumed this will include instances of matte black on portions of the casings, oversized trackpads, and the adoption of the MacBook Air's keyboard by the MacBook.

While the footprint of the 13-, 15-, and 17-inch systems will remain largely unchanged, Apple will reportedly be free to perform some trimming around the edges, similar to -- but nowhere near the same magnitude -- as what was accomplished with the MacBook Air, and to a lesser extent, the rear of the aluminum iMacs.

The 103 and 111 are impressive devices in their own right, but what VM wants to do with Windows Mobile is even more impressive. The Best Laptops Under $1,000

1. Designer Looks: HP Pavilion dv2660se
The $900 HP Pavilion dv2660se offers strictly middling performance, but its exceptional battery life and a great design make it our winning laptop under $1,000. The notebook's WorldBench 6 score of 67 is significantly lower than the high-80s marks of some portables with the latest mobile chips, but it's not bad for a budget machine. Though the 14.1-inch, 1280-by-800-pixel screen could be a tad brighter, it's easy enough to read. Nice extras include a bundled copy of Microsoft Works 8.5, and the ability to play a CD or DVD without first launching Windows. The dv2660se also has upgrade potential thanks to a side connection (one that all Pavilion laptops have) for HP's xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base.

2. Got Game: Acer Aspire 5920-6954
Except for business applications, which it lacks, the $999, 7.2-pound Aspire 5920-6954 has just about everything that price-conscious home-office buyers could ask for. It includes a 250GB hard drive and both an HDMI port and an HD DVD reader. It also has a subwoofer for better-than-average sound and a handy volume wheel. The terrific keyboard boasts loads of useful shortcut buttons, including one to play music or movies without first launching Windows. This is also the only sub-$1,000 laptop here with a dedicated graphics chip: an nVidia GeForce 8600M GS with 256MB of memory. The Aspire posted a solid WorldBench 6 score of 70 (the second best in this group), and its battery life was average at 3.8 hours.

3. Built to Order: Dell Inspiron 1525
Like the excellent HP Pavilion dv2600se, this $999, 15.4-inch Dell has lots of entertainment features: an instant-on button, a webcam and even dual headphone jacks. The 1525's MediaDirect button also lets you view your calendar, contacts and PowerPoint presentations -- without booting into Windows. Our test model paired 2GB of memory and a 2-GHz Core 2 Duo T7250 CPU to produce a WorldBench 6 score of 78; that's 17 percent faster than the average score of 65 posted by the five models in this slide show. With the battery upgraded from the standard four-cell to a six-cell ($15 extra), our unit lasted just over four hours on a charge. Though you get only basic integrated graphics, the Inspiron 1525 does include an HDMI connection for HDTVs. And an important difference between this and most other inexpensive laptops: You can customize it down to the smallest detail -- even the lid color -- before finally clicking the 'Buy Now' button.

4. Lightweight Contender: Fujitsu LifeBook S7211
This svelte $899 Windows Vista Business laptop has only two significant drawbacks: so-so speed and an inability to burn DVDs. The S7211 notched a WorldBench 6 score of 56, putting it 14 percent behind the average of 65 earned by the five sub-$1,000 laptops we tested. Aside from a minor glare problem, the 14.1-inch, 1280-by-800-resolution screen is crisp and readable. We quickly acclimated to the petite keyboard, which features Fujitsu's dual-purpose Security Application Panel (numbered buttons for shortcut keys or a password). The S7211 weighs 5.2 pounds with a CD writer/DVD reader installed in its modular bay. Swap this optical drive out for a battery instead ($120 extra), and Fujitsu says you can get about 6.5 hours of operation. Our review unit lasted an average 3.8 hours with a single battery.

5. Sweet Sound: Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-EZ2201
The basic $699 Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-EZ2201 is the lowest-priced laptop of our sub-$1,000 group. and it's also rather slow, with short battery life, too. If pinching pennies is paramount, however, this 15.4-inch, Windows Vista Basic notebook can get mainstream work done without too much fuss. The only model here using an AMD processor, and only one of two to include just 1GB of RAM, the Satellite Pro A210-EZ2201 achieved a WorldBench 6 score of just 54. The sub-$1,000 laptop average was 19 percent faster. Performance aside, this black-and-silver unit has some nice features for a $699 notebook, including a DVD writer, a FireWire port and an ExpressCard/54 slot. It even has two surprises. One is an empty bay inside for adding a second hard drive. (A single 80GB hard drive comes standard.) The other is great sound -- this plain little laptop belts out music like Ugly Betty channeling Celine Dion.

Dec I50 - Meizu M3 Clone

Cloning a clone is what the Dec has done with the I50. A clone of the Chinese player Meizu M3 which is pretty much a Nano Clone. The I50 rumored specs are RK2608A chipset, with AVI, WMA, APE, FLAC and AVI file support, it also uses a tactile strip for navigation, a 1.46 TFT LCD screen, all in a thin 7mm body.

AT&T and Android a possibility

AT&T has plans to sell cell phones based on Android with the assurance from Google that it won't be forced to offer all Google Apps.

AT&T Mobility President and CEO Ralph de la Vega met with Google for an in-depth briefing on Android, he said, speaking during a press lunch at the CTIA Wireless conference in Las Vegas. Google assured AT&T that the operator would be able to customize Android phones to include any applications, he said. "That's attractive to us. We were concerned that maybe the focus was just on Google apps," de la Vega said.

"If it's good for customers we'll offer it like any other OS," he said. "It is something we'd want in our portfolio."

Pleo update now available

New features:

  • Pleo's attitude and emotions change based on how you interact with him. A happy Pleo is one who receives a lot of attention while a sad Pleo is one who is neglected or abused.
  • Pleo has learned a new trick - he knows how to sit! Try holding his chin and rear at the same time. He'll then pull his front and back feet together. Give him a nudge back; don't forget to help him up when you want to keep playing.
  • Petting Pleo on his chin for a long period of time will coax him to sing a variety of melodies, after which he will remember the song he stopped on and may use it for other things such as calling for attention.
  • Pleo may occasionally get sick - coughing and sneezing! Can you nurse him back to health? by giving him lots of love and attention and feeding him his leaf.
  • Pleo has been picking up some strange habits as of late too - we've seen itchy feet and excessive chewing. What's your Pleo up to?
